BSGA and Arboricultural Association back Portal
First, let me say that you have no idea how much self-restraint it took, to not head up this post with a tree- or sign-related pun, there are so many to choose from.
What follows is a pun-free note on how two respected trade associations have helped us drive online take-up in their respective industries for the benefit of their members and the environment.
The British Sign and Graphics Association (BSGA) was the first trade association to sign up to support our Low Carbon Pledge initiative, back in August last year.
Since then they have continued to promote e-planning with articles on their website and in their publications. As a direct result of which, eight of the highest volume planning application submitters in the industry have now signed our pledge, committing to submit all of their planning applications online thereby saving copious amounts of CO2 in the process.
Ashleigh Signs, Astley Signs, Blaze Maintenance, Blaze Neon, Sign Specialists, Spencer Signs and the Technical Sign Company have all recently joined the dozens of other companies in this sector, including CBS Outdoor, Clear Channel, JC Decaux and Primesight in our ‘Green Suppliers Directory’ on the Planning Portal website and in using our unique green Portal logo on their marketing materials.
This follows recent similar progress with the Arboricultural Association who are helping to bring on board online application submitters from among their community of tree businesses.
Both application types are ideally suited to online submission, using facilities such as the ability to copy previous applications and amend application-specific details.
If your business belongs to either sector or if you would like support converting from paper to digital please get in touch with Stuart Mockford or myself. Likewise if you know of any other trade body that might be interested in similar arrangements.
